Third Sunday in Lent
O God, you are my God, eagerly will I seek you. Psalm 63.1
Thank you, Lord –
For the dignity, freedom and peace to be a child of God, much loved and cherished.
For the richness of Australian life that reflects the diversity of God’s kingdom.
For the opportunity to know and worship God through sacrament, word and deed.
For the love of God that shows us how to respect and care for one another.
For the hope of God that consoles and heals us in suffering and sorrow.
For the promise of eternal life through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
Please pray that God will –
Give the Church a penitent and contrite heart and make us agents of his transforming love.
Refresh the Church where it is parched and renew the Church where it fails to bear fruit.
Give to all in power an awareness of the awesome responsibility they carry.
Make each of us agents of his justice and peace.
Give all people a desire to shape our communities as places where neighbourliness flourishes.
Make us agents of his generosity.
Give to all who are weary, weighed down and troubled, relief in their sufferings.
Make us agents of his wholeness and healing.
Give to all who journey under the cloud of death a glimpse of God’s promise to eternal life
Make us ready to share in the glory of his eternity.
